Bode's and Cigar Galaxies:  These two galaxies are located near the Big Dipper constellation.  
Both galaxies (Bode's galaxy on the right and the Cigar galaxy on the left) are located about 12 million light years from earth.  
The small red "knots" in the spiral arms of Bode's galaxy are regions where stars are being formed. 
The blue core of the Cigar galaxy is surrounded by faint shreaded clouds of dust and fiery-looking plumes of glowing hydrogen blasting out of its central regions.
